Metro-Area Libraries Come Together for Shared Training Event
On February 10, approximately 120 metro-area library team members came together at the Urbandale Public Library for a shared training event. An outcome of the Governance Capital‘s Local Government Collaboration Project, the day featured Jody Urquhart, a highly sought-after funny motivational speaker.
Through this cross-training, we were able to make professional development more cost effective for metro-area communities, grow relationships across the multiple library systems to advance ongoing collaboration, and enable team members to gain new skills.
The day was made possible thanks to the support of Polk County and the work of the planning team, which included:
- Stacy Goodhue, Carlisle
- Cheryl Heid, Grimes
- Kim Kellogg, Polk City
- Kristine Larson, Waukee
- Sam Mitchel, Ankeny
- Jill Sanders, Bondurant
- Todd Seaman, Clive
- Julie Wells, Urbandale
