DES MOINES, IOWA –The executive committee for the Central Iowa Code Consortium (CICC) announced that the work of the code committees is complete for the 2018 cycle of construction and maintenance codes. The Executive Committee has approved the work of all committees and the final recommendations of the CICC have been published for communities to utilize in their individual adoptions.  Anyone can access the recommendations at: http://www.capitalcrossroadsvision.com/lgc/cicc/. The Executive Committee also announced that the CICC will be providing free training for anyone interested in attending. The training will cover all of the recommendations produced by the CICC. Training is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from Noon – 4 PM at Johnston City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Rd.

The CICC is a collaborative effort among metro communities to review code changes, recommend changes to these codes and produce a metro model code for all communities to consider through their local code adoption process. This project does not propose to make recommendations on permit process, code administration, appeals processes or specific local amendments deemed necessary by local code officials. The goal is to publish a metro code that would promote uniformity and consistency between local communities.
