GREATER DES MOINES, IA (October 10, 2022) – Capital Crossroads invites the community to participate and share their perspectives in a three-hour workshop called “The Big Sort” to be held on October 27th and 28th. This research is an important step in developing the 2040 vision plan for Central Iowa.
Capital Crossroads has retained Next Generation Consulting (NGC), led by futurist, economist, and author, Rebecca Ryan, to conduct a strategic foresight process and discern an innovative future for Central Iowa. The purpose of The Big Sort is to bring together a broad range of community members to discuss and prioritize trends in society, technology, environment, economy, and politics that are most likely to impact Central Iowa by 2040. NGC will lead this activity as a tabletop card game and will use workshop results to help fundamentally shape the new set of strategic directions and priorities.
“This workshop will play a meaningful and critical role in creating a brighter future for our community while providing networking opportunities and community knowledge,” said Capital Crossroads Director Britney Appelgate.
