Refugee Alliance of Central Iowa: 2021 World Refugee Day Events

June 9

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Wednesday, repeating indefinitely

Together we heal, learn and shine

What is World Refugee Day?

June 20th is the internationally recognized date where the world celebrates refugees, their journeys, and the innumerable ways they make the communities they resettle into a better place. While we normally would have a large in-person, day long celebration in June, due to Covid we will again be offering all of our activities virtually.

How can I celebrate World Refugee Day?

Join us throughout the month of June to celebrate World Refugee Day! RACI will be celebrating by hosting events such as Refugee Storytelling, a virtual FIFA tournament, restaurant challenges, informational fact walks around central Iowa, and origami butterfly displays.

Stay tuned to Des Moines World Refugee Day’s Facebook page for event details throughout the month!
