The Transportation Equity Panel is a conversation on transportation equity within the city of Des Moines and how transportation plays an integral role in systemic racism. Even as active transportation such as biking, walking, and transit grows in the United States, transportation equity is a topic advocates, transportation planners and lawmakers are not consistently addressing. In this discussion, we hope to shed light on transportation barriers in our own communities and highlight potential ways forward in the transportation field.
