An online survey is available as part of the Des Moines’ Capital Crossroads visioning plan. Anyone living within a 50-mile radius of the state Capitol is welcome to participate.

Capital Crossroads is a comprehensive visioning plan led by the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines that will create a five- to seven-year framework of ideas for growth in the area.

The survey includes questions about the region’s strengths and weaknesses, and is designed to help identify future opportunities and challenges. It includes several open-ended questions where respondents can offer their ideas for what Central Iowa should look like in 10 or 20 years.

Survey responses will contribute to the visioning planning process and help guide Tri-Chairs Angela Connolly, J. Barry Griswell and Cara Heiden and the project’s steering committee. The planning process is scheduled to take about seven months, and a formal plan is expected to be released in May.

To participate in the survey, go to www.capitalcrossroadsvision.com and click the “survey” link. The survey will be available until Dec. 10.

Topics on the survey include education, community, young professionals and general inquiries.
