The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute (GDMLI) is sponsoring “Capital Crossroads: Leadership in Action” as part of its Daybreak Leadership Breakfast Series. This special program is focused on the corporate capital needed to help develop Capital Crossroads; a new, five-year strategy for the Central Iowa region. The breakfast event will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from
7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at the DART Central Station, located at 620 Cherry Street in Des Moines.
 
The program, sponsored by Davis Brown Law Firm, will feature local leaders who champion and inspire community change through the Capital Crossroads initiative. Panelists will discuss creating and strengthening Des Moines’s downtown area by focusing on efforts to make neighborhood improvements, fill available office spaces, and build world-class cultural amenities.

• Jake Christensen, Christensen Development and Neighborhood Development Corporation
• Erin Olson Douglas, City of Des Moines
• Russ Cross, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
 
This event is open to the public. Registrations are accepted at www.gdmli.com. The event is free for GDMLI dues-paying alumni at the Inspired Leader Level, $10 for dues-paying alumni at the Connected Leader Level and $15 for all other attendees.
 
A light breakfast will be provided and attendees are encouraged to participate in a tour of the new DART Central Station at the conclusion of the program. Parking is available southwest of the DART facility in EMC Insurance’s Lot B, accessed from SW 8th Street.
